The Globe seems to delight in publishing ill informed nonsense from UKIP. The latest offering from Philip Griffiths includes the assertion that "there are many eminent scientists who are totally against the climate change fanatics but, of course, anyone who disagrees is savagely attacked and branded as lunatics."
Far be it from me to brand Mr Griffiths a lunatic. However, I would be delighted if he could tell us who these eminent scientists are and provide a list of their papers published in peer reviewed scientific journals.
Or, he could just refer to the world's longest standing scientific academy, The Royal Society. It sums up the issue as follows: "It is certain that increased greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of fossil fuels lead to a warming of climate, and it is very likely that these green house gases are the dominant cause of the global warming that has been taking place over the last 50 years."
